We’re an app dedicated to celebrating the in-store experience. 

The independent bookshops, fashion boutiques, florists, wine stores, record shops, specialty grocers and more that bring vibrancy to our streetscapes & connect us together in-person through the in-store events, activations and programs they host. 

We're thrilled to have you be a part of Friend in Store! Your store is now part of a hand-selected collection of diverse, independent retailers across NYC, brought together, along with your in-store experiences, in one app to easily search & discover.

For our Friends (app users), we’ve created a curated resource to find and attend in-store events across the city. And you, our exceptional stores, a new channel to promote in-store activities, attract event attendees and acquire new customers. 

KEY THINGS TO KNOW ABOUT OUR APP:

  1. Each store has its own custom profile where Friends can access store details: photos, description, links to web, map & phone, store hours and upcoming events.

  2. The Discover section is where Friends can find & filter stores by neighborhood, store type and special features.

  3. The Events section is where Friends can search & sort in-store events by neighborhood, date, store type and event type.

  4. The In Store section (our home screen) is where Friends can learn about other in-store news, such as sample sales, brand launches, limited-time menu offers and more.

  5. To share details about your in-store events and news, you can go to our web portal at friendinstore.com, click “Store Log In” and enter passcode: HelloFriend.  Upon submission, in-store events and news will be uploaded to the app within 48 hours.

  6. If your store is extending an in-store privilege, Friends may find details and terms via your store profile. Privileges are store perks (i.e. Friend-only discount, access to exclusive in-store experience, small gift with purchase, etc.) designed to drive traffic and spur in-store sales

  7. Upon app sign up, every Friend receives a personalized ‘Friend Card’ with their name on it, accessed via their app profile. A great way to say hi and make a connection!
