Friend in Store is an app designed as a dedicated channel for stores to promote in-store programming, reach new audiences and drive foot traffic. Our goal is to connect your store with a high-intent community actively looking for places to shop and IRL experiences to join.

We feature a diverse range of independent retailers across NYC, each hand-selected for its distinct point of view and unique in-store experience. From bookshops to fashion boutiques, design studios, florists, record stores, specialty grocers and more.

Each store featured is hand-selected by our founder or one of our guest curators. City insiders, tastemakers and fellow store champions with unique perspectives and creative lenses to discover store through.

There’s no cost to be featured in the editorial section of the app.  

We define a store as a space with shoppable retail. At this time, restaurants, bars, and fitness studios are not included.

You can add your events at any time through our Store Portal. It’s entirely optional, but a great way to share your in-store events with our community of Friends actively looking for IRL experiences to join.

To submit an event, visit our Store Portal, click ‘Store Log In’, enter the passcode “HelloFriend” to get started. Upon submission, events will be added to the app within 48 hours.

Currently, there’s no cost to submit an event while we continue to build the platform.

We define an event as an in-store gathering with a define beginning and end. Events must take place at your store and be open to the public.

Each event profile includes your flyer, event description, store details and link to RSVP and ticket page, if required. Users can save and share your event, as well as add to their calendar as a reminder.

Privileges are special perks, invitations, discounts and experiences designed to drive traffic and support in-store sales. Examples include: Friend-only discount, access to exclusive in-store experience and special gift with purchase.

Privilege terms & conditions are set by each store. To redeem, Friends must show their in-app Friend card.
